Total direct damages estimated at US$5.1 billion, and the report is explicit that this is a median within a range of US$2.7 billion to US$7.9 billion given the inherent uncertainties. Unit costs are as of September 2022 and are estimated at around 80 per cent of the equivalent Turkish unit costs; the report states they do not account for the depreciation of the Syrian pound or for the increase in inflation. Composition: residential US$2.5 billion at 48.5 per cent, non-residential US$1.7 billion at 33.5 per cent, infrastructure US$0.9 billion at 18 per cent. When the Development Programme carried this figure into its total, the range was dropped and the median travelled alone
