  1. SUPPLIED BY THE AUTHOR AS A PDF ON 16 AUGUST 2026 after two automated retrievals failed: HTTP 403 to the fetch tool on both the English and Arabic editions, and HTTP 403 again to a direct request with a browser user-agent. Held at 'research/Investigation_ How Marota City project left around 30,000 people homeless - Enab Baladi.pdf', 5 pages, with a text extract at research/retrieved/enabbaladi-2024-05-marota-30000-investigation.txt. THIS IS THE SOURCE OF THE THIRTY THOUSAND AND IT SHOWS ITS WORKING, verbatim: 'Among the 7,500 families evacuated from their homes, 5,500 families were entitled to alternative housing, and the prices are to be paid by them. Years have passed and none have received their home, thus rendering about 30,000 people homeless (assuming an average family size of only four people).' SO THE FIGURE IS A DERIVATION WITH A STATED ASSUMPTION, 7,500 households at an assumed four, not an enumeration, and it must never be printed as a count. The subject area is Mezzeh and Basateen al-Razi. THE STRONGER FACT IS THE ONE BESIDE IT: an alternative-housing entitlement, at the households' own cost, that had delivered nothing years later.
