Version history
The register keeps changing after the book is fixed in print. Each entry below was added to this row in the order shown.
READ 17 August 2026 at regulations 10 to 19, which is the asset freeze and the bond prohibition; THE REST OF PART 3 AND THE OTHER PARTS ARE NOT READ. What is established: regulations 16, 17 and 18 are shown as omitted with effect from 25 April 2025 by SI 2025/507, and REGULATION 19 SURVIVES, prohibiting the sale or purchase of, and brokering in, 'Assad regime bonds' or bonds guaranteed by the Assad regime AND ISSUED BETWEEN 19 JANUARY 2012 AND 8 DECEMBER 2024. UK law therefore defines a class of Syrian sovereign debt by the dates of the regime that issued it. The revised text carries the site's own currency warning, so the position must be rechecked at proof stage.
