RETRIEVED AND PARSED AT THE DATA, 22 AUGUST 2026, retrieval C1 of the Chapter 8 gate. THE DATA FILE WAS READ, NOT THE CATALOG DESCRIPTION, which matters because the description says only that lines carry a transmission power 'in kV (e.g. 400)' and does not state the set of values. THE FILE AS SERVED IS MALFORMED AND THIS IS RECORDED BECAUSE ANYONE REPEATING THE RETRIEVAL WILL MEET IT: the server appends the literal string 'System.IO.MemoryStream' after the closing brace, so a plain JSON parse fails. Truncate at the final ']}' and it parses. WHAT THE DATASET CONTAINS: 47 features, being 28 LineString features and 19 Point features. LINE VOLTAGES, THE WHOLE DISTRIBUTION: 225 kV on 14 lines and 400 kV on 14 lines. NO OTHER VALUE APPEARS. Line types: 21 single and 7 double. Node types: 11 city, 2 town, 5 plant, 1 dam. SO THE SOURCE MANUSCRIPT IS RIGHT AT SOURCE CHAPTER 11 LINE 3179 that the dataset records every line at either 400 or 225 kV and none at any other voltage. That is confirmed at the data. AND THE MANUSCRIPT'S REASONING FROM IT IS PARTLY WRONG, WHICH ONLY OPENING THE DATA SHOWS. The manuscript sets the dataset against a 2026 United States embassy investor guide describing the network as 400/230/66 kV, says the difference 'is small and it is not trivial', and concludes 'This book uses the dataset.' TWO DIFFERENT POINTS ARE BEING RUN TOGETHER. On 230 against 225 the manuscript is right and the correction is real: 225 is the class the network was built to and 230 is the North American figure it gets rounded into. ON 66 kV THE TWO DOCUMENTS ARE NOT DISAGREEING. This dataset holds 28 lines for an entire country and the catalog describes it as a snapshot of the PRIMARY transmission lines; its silence on 66 kV is a fact about its scope, not evidence that no 66 kV lines exist. A 28-line file is a schematic of the backbone, not a grid model. Any Chapter 8 sentence preferring the dataset says which limb it is preferring it on. THE DATASET ALSO CANNOT SUPPORT A CAPACITY CLAIM: there is no capacity, rating or ownership attribute on any feature, so the Thawra Dam's 824 MW at source line 3179 is NOT sourced here and remains retrieval C4. Thawra appears only as a node of type 'dam'. WHAT IT DOES SUPPORT: the topology argument. Five plant and dam nodes against nineteen nodes in total, and a backbone of 28 lines, is the shape the manuscript describes, and the interconnection property names the Jordanian, Lebanese and Turkish links directly.
