Version history

The register keeps changing after the book is fixed in print. Each entry below was added to this row in the order shown.

  1. RETRIEVED AND READ 22 AUGUST 2026. It is the document Karam Shaar Advisory issue 9 hyperlinks for its '1,500 MW' claim about the Siemens work, so it is part of retrieval A2. WHAT IT SAYS ON ITS FACE: 'Deir Ali power station is an operating power station of at least 1500-megawatts (MW) in Deir Ali, Daraa, Syria with multiple units, SOME OF WHICH ARE NOT CURRENTLY OPERATING.' Unit-level table: CC1 operating, natural gas, 750 MW, combined cycle, start year 2009; CC2 operating, natural gas, 750 MW, combined cycle; and a third unit recorded as CC3-EXT. Coordinates 33.268416, 36.328777. THE FIGURES DO NOT AGREE WITH UNDP'S AND BOTH ARE ABOUT THE SAME PLANT. This entry gives 'at least 1500 MW'; SRC-328, the UNDP release of 11 February 2026, gives 'a total installed capacity of 1,450 MW' when fully operational. Fifty megawatts apart, and the qualifiers differ: 'at least' against 'when fully operational'. Neither is a measurement of what the plant is producing. TIER 4 AND NOT HIGHER: it is a curated open dataset with per-unit references, not a plant operator's or regulator's statement. Its own caution, that some units are not currently operating, is the installed-against-available distinction this chapter meets at SRC-319, SRC-312, SRC-324 and SRC-328. STATUS READ_IN_PART: the project summary, location table and unit-level details are read; the ownership tree, the methane plume section and the reference list are not.
