Version history

The register keeps changing after the book is fixed in print. Each entry below was added to this row in the order shown.

  1. RETRIEVED AND READ 11 SEPTEMBER 2026, AQ-73 B9. Page 4: 'IRENA makes historic revisions to improve the accuracy of previous year entries and continues to develop improved methodologies for estimating off-grid statistics. The methodology notes offer further explanation.' Page 5, ANNEX 2 'Summary of methodology by country': 'Below are some changes made this year to the methodology for certain countries. For countries not listed in the table below, the same methodology that was used in previous years was applied.' Seventeen countries listed (Bangladesh, Botswana, Ethiopia, Eswatini, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, Yemen, Zambia, Zimbabwe). SYRIA IS NOT LISTED. Where the questionnaire was used the source column reads 'Official'. This is the one place found where the agency publishes per-country method changes, and it predates the Syrian revision by three months. [row proposed as SRC-508 in audits/reports/AQ73_B9_irena_methodology_2026-09-11.md; registered 12 September 2026]
  2. COUNT CORRECTED 13 SEPTEMBER 2026 on 08-1 of the wave B diff review: the annex names seventeen countries, counted at the page by the reviewer; this row had written 'eighteen' against a list of seventeen names, and Chapter 8 v37 line 11 printed the miscount.
