The oil total therefore includes production the item says was taken from fields in the east it calls occupied, that is, fields outside the government's control. THE ATTRIBUTION TO NAMED FORCES AND THEIR 'MERCENARIES' IS THE MINISTRY'S POLITICAL CHARACTERISATION: the prose attributes 'occupied' to the item and does not repeat the rest (CLAUDE.md, contested Syrian political interpretations are the author's). No method stated. WHAT PROSE MAY NOT SAY: that 31.4 million barrels was the government's production, or any comparison with the Statistical Abstract's 2021 crude row (4,902 thousand cubic metres, OILPROD-003), which the book does not print.
