Version history
The register keeps changing after the book is fixed in print. Each entry below was added to this row in the order shown.
READ 18 OCTOBER 2026 for Chapter 7 v54 (D-304 item 1); first read by this project 16 October 2026 and recorded then at SRC-282. VERBATIM: 'Only 900,000 of 1.3 million people on the government payroll actually come to work, Abazeed said, citing a preliminary review.'; '"[quotation withheld, 7 words; follow the citation]" Abazeed, an energetic 38-year-old, said in his office. "[quotation withheld, 6 words; follow the citation]"'; 'Mohammad Alskaf, the minister for Administrative Development who oversees public sector headcount, went further, telling Reuters the state would need between 550,000 and 600,000 workers - less than half the current number.'; 'Reuters interviewed five ministers in the interim government'; ghost employees are glossed as 'people who got paid for doing little or nothing during Assad's rule'. SO THE 900,000 / 400,000 DIVISION IS IN THE JANUARY INTERVIEW, and Enab Baladi's report of 28 March 2025 (SRC-281) repeats it from a statement to SANA. 'Preliminary review' is the minister's own qualifier. The figures are the minister's statement, not a published count; no list by ministry accompanies them. Read after the closing date of 28 September 2026: Chapter 7 l.3 carries the D-256 form. The rest of the report (privatisation, state firms) is not read for this book.
LABEL LIFTED 18 October 2026 (closing pass 2, D-315; unit CL2-D): the reading is dated on or before the closing date of 18 October 2026 (D-315 item 1), so the prose keeps the reading date and drops 'after this book's closing date' (LABELS.md class A). Chapter 7 v57 l.3. 'Read after the closing date of 28 September 2026: Chapter 7 l.3 carries the D-256 form' no longer applies.
