READ 16 August 2026 AND IT CORRECTED FOUR THINGS IN THE CHAPTER AND THREE IN SRC-101. (1) THE NOTICE TEXT IN FULL: 'This is a notification to residents of illegal housing in al-Somaria to leave their houses in no more than 48 hours or face punishment under the law.' Chapter 4 v1 to v3 closed the quotation at 'to leave', dropping the deadline and the sanction, with no ellipsis. (2) THE MARKS ARE NOT UNREADABLE: an X meant the home was safe to stay in and an O meant it was to be emptied; different security-force groups sprayed them over the course of the raids, some homes carried both, and some homes marked X or marked with both were served with notices anyway. (3) THE POPULATION FIGURES ARE THE NEIGHBOURHOOD COMMITTEE'S, not the advocacy organisation's, and 'Reuters couldn't independently verify the committee's figures.' (4) BOTH SIDES ASSERTED SOMETHING ABOUT TITLE AND NEITHER CITED AN INSTRUMENT: the forces, led by an interior ministry commander known as Abu Hudhayfah, went door-to-door 'telling families they were living on land illegally seized by the Assads and demanding proof they owned their homes'; two residents produced ownership documents which he 'dismissed... telling them they dated back to the Assad era and were therefore considered invalid'; and a committee member said 'My father bought it with his blood, sweat and tears'. ON THE COMMITTEE, AND READ THIS PRECISELY: 'Reuters couldn't find any previous record of the Housing Committee cited in the notices', and SEPARATELY 'Syria's information and interior ministries didn't respond to requests for comment on the eviction actions in al-Somaria, including what triggered the raids and whether they were authorized by the government'. IT DID NOT ASK WHETHER THE COMMITTEE WAS LEGITIMATE; the strings 'legitimac' and 'legitimate' occur ZERO times in the archived page, and a fetch tool's paraphrase that said otherwise put a question into a named agency's mouth in Chapter 4 v3.
