Version history

The register keeps changing after the book is fixed in print. Each entry below was added to this row in the order shown.

  1. REGISTERED LATE, 17 August 2026. The files were retrieved and read on 17 August and the row was not opened at the time, which is the defect the retrieval gate exists to prevent. READ AT THE PASSAGES ON PRIVATE BANK CONDITION. NEITHER PAGE CARRIES THE AGGREGATE PRIVATE-BANK EQUITY FIGURE the earlier manuscript prints. That figure is therefore NOT AVAILABLE at a tier this project may print, and it is cut from the chapter rather than carried at second hand.
  2. AMENDED 17 AUGUST 2026. The chapter said of the private-bank equity assessment that 'The attempt and the routes not yet tried are in the source register', AND THIS ROW CARRIED NEITHER. What it recorded was two adjacent pages retrieved successfully, HTTP 200, and read. That is a successful retrieval of two different documents, not a failed attempt on the assessment. THE ATTEMPT, STATED: no retrieval of the assessment itself has been attempted. NO ROUTE HAS BEEN TRIED. ROUTES NOT YET TRIED, NAMED SO THAT THE NEXT PASS IS NOT FREE TO PRINT AROUND THEM: the Karam Shaar Advisory publications index; the firm's newsletter archive; the Syria Report, which carries the firm's work; and a direct request to the firm. NONE IS OUT OF REACH IN THE D-051 SENSE. AND THE ASSESSMENT'S EXISTENCE RESTS ON THE EARLIER MANUSCRIPT ALONE, which gives a figure on 'Karam Shaar Advisory's assessment of 26 March 2026'. CLAUDE.md holds that absence in the manuscript is not absence in the world; THE CONVERSE HOLDS TOO, AND PRESENCE IN THE MANUSCRIPT IS NOT EXISTENCE IN THE WORLD. The assessment may well exist. Nothing opened establishes that it does, and the chapter now says so in its own words rather than pointing at this row.
  3. THE BAR IS STRUCK, 18 AUGUST 2026, AND THE ROW THAT NAMED FOUR UNTRIED ROUTES WAS ITSELF THE ROUTE. The publications index is retrieved at SRC-244 and THE ASSESSMENT ITSELF AT SRC-243, published 2026-03-26, which is the date the earlier book gave for it. IT DID NOT NEED A SEARCH: the href to it was inside this row's own file, on disk since 17 August 2026, and nobody extracted the links. The sentence at chapter line 195, 'I cannot tell you from anything I have opened that the assessment exists', IS FALSE AS OF THIS DATE and the chapter is corrected accordingly. The figure is total equity of all Syrian private banks at Q4 2025 of SYP (old) 8.7 trillion, about USD 795 million, which is where CAP-009's 'under 800,000,000' comes from.
