Printed page 53 (PDF 65), table 'Off-grid solar photovoltaic', CAP (MW), columns 2015 to 2024, row Syrian AR: BLANK for 2015 to 2021, then 2.000 (2022), 2.000 (2023), 2.000 (2024). Printed page 23 (PDF 35), 'Solar energy', row Syrian AR: blank, blank, 0, 1, 2, 12, 33, 60, 60, 60 for 2015 to 2024. SET AGAINST SRC-314, THE 2026 EDITION OF THE SAME ANNUAL PUBLICATION, READ AT THE SAME TABLES: Off-grid solar, 2022: 2 MW becomes 249 MW. 2023: 2 becomes 931. 2024: 2 becomes 1,500. Total solar, 2022: 60 becomes 307. 2023: 60 becomes 1,022. 2024: 60 becomes 1,606. THE 2024 OFF-GRID SOLAR FIGURE WAS REVISED BY A FACTOR OF 750 BETWEEN TWO CONSECUTIVE EDITIONS TWELVE MONTHS APART. The two editions agree exactly for 2017 to 2021 (0, 1, 2, 12, 33) and diverge from 2022 onward, so the revision is confined to the years the new series covers. THE ON-GRID LIMB DID NOT MOVE: total minus off-grid gives 58 MW for 2022 in BOTH editions. The whole of the revision is off-grid. THE REGIONAL CONSEQUENCE: Middle East total off-grid solar for 2024 is 327.629 MW in this edition and 1 819.870 MW in the 2026 edition. Syria alone accounts for the difference. WHAT THIS DOES AND DOES NOT ESTABLISH. It does NOT establish that the panels are not on the roofs; other evidence says they are. It establishes that the published series carrying the quantity is thirteen months old, that its immediate predecessor put the same year at two megawatts, and that the new values are attributed by IRENA to official sources. A sentence printing 2,060 MW without that is printing a number whose provenance is the book's own subject. NO EXPLANATION OF THE REVISION IS GIVEN IN EITHER EDITION'S TABLES OR IN THE NOTES TO THE TABLES ON PAGE 7. THAT IS A SCOPED ABSENCE: what was searched is the two tables, the notes to the tables and the front matter of both editions. The IRENA statistics methodology pages and any separate revision note were NOT searched, and the wider form of the absence is barred until they are. CORROBORATED INDEPENDENTLY BY SRC-316, IRENA's own Syria country energy profile, last updated on its own face on 22 September 2025 [CORRECTED 23 AUGUST 2026 from 'of 24 September 2025', the PDF creation timestamp; ADJ-04 of the Chapter 8 v4 diff review, which found this row neither amended nor raised by the sibling sweep], which carries solar capacity of 60 MW and is therefore built on this edition rather than the next.
