Version history
The register keeps changing after the book is fixed in print. Each entry below was added to this row in the order shown.
'Some Main Indicators for <year>': 'Average of pupils no. per teacher in the basic education is' 16.0 (2015, 2016 abstract), 15.0 (2016), 15 (2017), 16 (2018). Sheet 'CH 11': 'Data Sources: Ministry of Education'; teacher data follow 'the system applied in the ministry of education starting from 2002'. The 2016 abstract's table 10 is headed 'NUMBER OF SCHOOLS, SECTIONS, STUDENTS AND TEACHERS OF PROFESSIONAL AND RELIGIOUS SECONDARY EDUCATION 1996-2015'. SO SYRIAN TEACHER DATA WERE PUBLISHED WITHIN THE INSTITUTE'S 2003 TO 2022 GAP. READ IN PART: which teacher counts the abstracts print for basic and general secondary education, and for which years, is not yet established; that is for the Chapter 7 correction cycle. [ANSWERED 18 OCTOBER 2026: see the reading of that date.] PROSE MAY SAY the abstracts give the ratio for 2015 to 2018 from the ministry's data; MAY NOT print a teacher count from them until one is read.
D7-3 (audits/reports/article07_review_2026-10-16/REMEDIATION_2.md): the 2017 to 2023 abstracts' sheet 'CH 11' records that basic education's first cycle covered grades 1 to 4 and the second 5 to 9 'just till 2014', and from then grades 1 to 6 and 7 to 9. Whether the institute's 2002 and 2024 primary counts cover the same population is therefore a question; the series maps to ISCED 2011 (World Bank metadata).
D-304/D-307 series corrections (07), 18 October 2026: READING OF 18 OCTOBER 2026 (Chapter 7 v54 l.103 and l.105; D-304 item 1, VERIFY.md T-3): the 'READ IN PART' question this row left open is answered for the editions read. The 'Some Main Indicators' sheets of the 2016 to 2019 editions, opened again today, give the pupils-per-teacher ratio in basic education for 2015 (16.0), 2016 (15.0), 2017 (15) and 2018 (16); the 2011 to 2015 editions, archived under SRC-785, give it for 2010 to 2014 (17.0, 17.0, 21.0, 15.0, 16.0). The 2016 edition's table 10 counts vocational and religious secondary teachers for 1996 to 2015, footnoted '* Includes administrative staff.'; the 2023 edition's table 9 does so for 2004, 2010 and 2020 to 2022. The 2019 edition's sheet 'CH 11' records the cycle change verbatim: 'this system is applied just till 2014. But in the next years the system has been changed to become the first cycle includes 1st to 6th grades & the second cycle includes 7th to 9th grades.' The 2011 edition (held at research/CLOSING_CBS_2026-09-28/x/2011/) tables 2/11 and 3/11 give 2002 pupils of 2,075,861 (grades 1 to 4), 421,397 (grade 6) and 407,311 (grade 5), summing (my addition) to the World Bank's 2,904,569 for 2002 (SRC-786). THE BAR 'MAY NOT print a teacher count from them until one is read' IS ANSWERED: no basic or general secondary teacher count is printed in the held editions on the inventory at audits/reports/ch07_correction_2026-10-16/CBS_TEACHERS.md (not re-scanned in full today), and the one count Chapter 7 prints, 128,903 for 2002, is from the 2007 edition at SRC-785, read. PROSE MAY SAY the abstracts print the ratio for 2010 to 2018 and count vocational and religious teachers including administrative staff; MAY NOT print the ratios' implied teacher counts (my division, orders of magnitude only).
18 October 2026 (D-308 item 1; RETEST_07_09 RT07-1): the quotation above, "[quotation withheld, 8 words; follow the citation]", stops at the first item of a list. The whole list, sheet 'CH 11' of the 2016 edition, rows 40 to 45, verbatim: '- Data Sources: | ـ مصادر البيانات:' / 'Ministry of Education. | وزارة التربية.' / 'Ministry of Higher Education. | وزارة التعليم العالي.' / 'Ministry of Culture. | وزارة الثقافة.' / 'The related Data on intermediate institutes and training centers are collected from various sources.' The 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022 and 2023 editions carry the same list (rows 44 to 49), as does the 2011 introduction (SRC-785). No edition maps a source to school figures. PROSE MAY SAY the editions list the Ministry of Education among the data sources of their education chapter; MAY NOT say they name it as the source of their school figures. For 'count vocational and religious teachers' in the reading above read 'print counts of vocational and religious teachers' (REVIEW_07 R07-1: a publisher prints).
LABEL LIFTED 18 October 2026 (closing pass 2, D-315; unit CL2-D): the reading is dated on or before the closing date of 18 October 2026 (D-315 item 1), so the prose keeps the reading date and drops 'after this book's closing date' (LABELS.md class A). Chapter 7 v57 l.103 and l.105.
19 October 2026 (D-315 remediation, CONSOLIDATED.md R-E-2): the Citation's closing stamp '[ADDED 18 OCTOBER 2026, REVIEW_07 R07-11; RETEST_07_09 RT07-3]' moved here, because it printed in works cited v30.
