Version history

The register keeps changing after the book is fixed in print. Each entry below was added to this row in the order shown.

  1. READ AFTER THE CLOSING DATE OF 28 SEPTEMBER 2026, and printed dated (D-307, OO-1). SYRIA'S ROW, oil in thousand barrels then gas in bcf, at the two as-at dates each edition prints: 1 January 1996 and 1995, 2,500,000 and 7,000 at both; 1997 and 1996, 2,500,000 at both, gas 8,300 and 7,000; 1998 and 1997, 2,500,000 and 8,300 at both; 1999 and 1998, 2,500,000 at both, gas 8,500 and 8,300; every later edition to that of 2 December 2019 (1 January 2020 and 2019), 2,500,000 and 8,500 at both dates. With SRC-393 and the issues of 6 December 2021 and November-December 2025 (OILRES-001), Syria's oil is 2,500,000 at every 1 January from 1995 to 2026. THE OIL COLUMN'S DEFINITION: [STRUCK 18 OCTOBER 2026 (REVIEW_09 R09-1; RETEST_07_09 RT09-1) AND QUOTED: 'no definitional footnote in any edition read before December 2016'. THE TABLES FOR 1 JANUARY 1996 AND 1995 TO 1 JANUARY 2002 AND 2001 PRINT AN EDITOR'S NOTE DEFINING THE RESERVE CATEGORY.] no edition read before December 2016 states which liquids the oil column includes; December 2016, '1Includes crude oil, lease condensate and oil sands.'; December 2017, '2Includes crude oil, lease condensate and oil sands.'; December 2018 (the -20b file), '1Oil Includes crude oil, lease condensate, natural gas liquids and oil sands.'; December 2019, '1: Includes crude oil, lease condensate, natural gas liquids, and oil sands.' NOT IN THIS ROW: ogj_wwrp_2018-12-20a.pdf and ogj_wwrp_2020-12-07.pdf, which are the field-by-field production files and carry no reserves table (the 7 December 2020 reserves table was not obtained; its two dates are carried by the December 2019 and December 2021 editions); ogj_wwrp_2024-12-09.pdf, the December 2024 edition, held since 16 October 2026 and left to the D-305 closing pass with SRC-393 (OO-17). NOT READ: any part of these pages beyond Syria's row, the column heads and the table notes; the accompanying articles; any edition before the 1995/96 table. Not tried: an enquiry to the journal for the basis of the Syrian row, which needs the author.
  2. REVIEW_09 R09-1/R09-6, 18 October 2026: The tables for 1 January 1996/1995 to 2002/2001 print an EDITOR'S NOTE below the table: 'All reserves figures except those for the FSU (and gas for Canada) are reported as proved reserves recoverable with present technology and prices.' It defines the reserve category, not the liquids the oil column includes.
  3. 18 October 2026 (RETEST_07_09 RT09-1, re-reading the row): the EDITOR'S NOTE quoted above in the FSU form is the wording of the tables for 1 January 2001 and 2000 (_17299701) and 2002 and 2001 (_17299710). The table for 1996 and 1995 (_17299714) names the C.I.S. in place of the FSU, [STRUCK 18 OCTOBER 2026 (FINAL_PASS_REVIEW FP-1) AND QUOTED: 'and those for 1997 to 1999 write F.S.U.'] the table for 1 January 1997 and 1996 (_17299723) also names the C.I.S. ('except those for the C.I.S.'), and those for 1 January 1998 and 1997 (_17299696) and 2000 and 1999 (_17299765) write F.S.U. ('except those for the F.S.U.'), read at the text layer 18 October 2026; the table for 1999 and 1998 (_17299703) opens the note 'Reserve data come from published government reports and from responses to an OGJ survey requesting estimates of "proved reserves".' Each defines the reserve category; none states which liquids the oil column includes. The note is absent from the table for 1 January 2003 and 2002 onwards in the editions read.
  4. LABEL LIFTED 18 October 2026 (closing pass 2, D-315; unit CL2-D): the reading is dated on or before the closing date of 18 October 2026 (D-315 item 1), so the prose keeps the reading date and drops 'after this book's closing date' (LABELS.md class A). Chapter 9 v42 l.23; the run from 1 January 1995 now also stands behind l.13 and l.25 ('since at least 1995', HELD R09-10).
