RETRIEVED ON THE FIFTH INSTANCE OF THE D-030 PATTERN AND THE WORST OF THEM. Chapter 1 v5 line 224 prints 'I have not opened either' and records that the humanitarian and children's agency sites refused retrieval on 10 August 2026. The World Population Prospects limb of that disclosure is not sustainable: this page was reached on 11 August 2026 in two calls. The humanitarian-plan limb IS sustainable and was checked: the held HNRP at research/ is a genuine two-page extract whose second page carries only the date 2 April 2026, so it does not carry the figures and the chapter is right about it. WHAT THIS PAGE GIVES: a total population for the Syrian Arab Republic of 25.6 million FOR 2025, attributed on its face to 'World Population Prospects 2024 revision. United Nations Population Division, 2024'. THE YEAR IS THE POINT. Chapter 1 line 222 sets 25.6 million against the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs' 2026 PLANNING FIGURE and says the UN projection agrees to within a rounding, without naming the projection's year. The projection that equals 25.6 million is the 2025 one. The sentence is true and undated, which in a chapter about undated figures is the defect it prosecutes. TIER. This is a UN agency dashboard reporting WPP, not WPP itself, so it is an account of the document. It may date the claim; it may not be cited as the projection
AMENDED 18 AUGUST 2026. THE PROJECTION ITSELF IS NOW HELD AND READ AT SRC-256, so this row's bar, 'It may date the claim; it may not be cited as the projection', is discharged by citing SRC-256 rather than by lifting anything here. This dashboard remains an account of World Population Prospects and its 25.6 million for 2025 is the medium variant's 1 July 2025 value of 25,620,427 rounded. SRC-260 records that the World Bank series is an account of the same file, so the three sources this chapter names are one document and two reports of it.
