Version history
The register keeps changing after the book is fixed in print. Each entry below was added to this row in the order shown.
READ AT THE TABLE 18 October 2026 (HELD.md 'Chapter 9 l.61'; re-checked by unit CL2-D at the text layer and, for 2017, at the render mcs2017_p2_y485.png). SYRIA'S ROW, mine production for two years then reserves, thousand metric tons: 2014 '1,000 500 1,800,000'; 2015 '500 1,000 1,800,000'; 2016 '1,230 750 1,800,000'; 2017 '750 — 1,800,000'; 2018 '— 100 1,800,000'; 2019 '100 100 1,800,000'. So the 1,800,000 stood in every edition from January 2011 to 2021, and l.71's 'moved twice in fifteen years' holds. The 2017 edition's note, 'The phosphate rock mines in Iraq and Syria were reported to be closed in late 2015 because of ongoing conflicts in that region', is not printed (HELD.md). NOT READ: the domestic sections and the rest of each note. The book prints no value from these editions (CH09-USGS-EDITIONS Note stands); it prints the count.
