Daily gas production. THE PUBLISHED FIGURES ARE NOT THE SAME QUANTITY. The Energy Institute publishes 2.723 billion cubic metres a YEAR for 2024, which is 7.46 million a day on division; its note says its cubic metres are energy-derived and standardised to a gross calorific value of 40 MJ per cubic metre and 'do not necessarily equate with gas volumes expressed in specific national terms'. The Syrian figures are nationally stated volumes: 8 million a day for government-held areas in January 2025 on the caretaker minister, 7.6 million in January 2026 on the Syrian Petroleum Company, 6.3 million in July 2026 on the same company, plus about 1 million from areas held by the Syrian Democratic Forces

The source manuscript attributes 7.4 to Karam Shaar Advisory's 2025 sector assessment; that assessment prints 8 and credits 7.4 to the Energy Institute. The energy minister gave about 7 million on 14 December 2025 against the company's 7.6 weeks later. The Washington Institute gives 'an estimated (but unverified) 7.5' across twenty-eight fields in August 2025, up from a 2012 estimate of 5.6. Demand is stated as 23 million cubic metres a day in March 2025 and as about 10.6 million implied in January 2026, from the same ministry

Never set 7.4 against 8 as rival estimates of one quantity. Name the publisher, the year, the geography and the unit basis for any gas figure, and state that the Energy Institute's is an annual figure divided and standardised by calorific value. The Syrian Petroleum Company's own director of oil field management says the company does not have precise figures on the number of oil wells in Syria
